Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner

What if the unexpected guest were exactly who we needed?

A daughter in love, a family dinner, and an announcement that turns every certainty upside down. What should have been a celebration becomes a test for everyone involved: because accepting the people we love sometimes means questioning everything we have always believed.

On Sunday, December 20, Cesare Bocci and Vittoria Belvedere take the stage at Alexander Girardi Hall in Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner, the celebrated comedy made famous on screen by Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn. Adapted by Mario Scaletta and directed by Guglielmo Ferro, this story, first told in the 1960s, returns with remarkable relevance today.

Through witty dialogue, unexpected situations and irresistible humour, the play explores cultural differences and prejudice, reminding us that the real challenge is not simply to tolerate those who are different, but to understand them. Because behind every conviction lies a question, and behind every encounter the possibility of seeing things differently.

A comedy that entertains, moves and invites us to reflect, proving that some conversations are still necessary. And that sometimes, all it takes is sitting around the same table to discover that the world is far bigger than our own certainties.
