What if the Dolomites were more than just mountains? What if, beyond their majestic peaks, there were a world of stories, characters, traditions and truths waiting to be laughed about?
This November, Cortina d’Ampezzo shines a spotlight on one of the most authentic expressions of its identity: Ampezzo theatre. With a title that challenges, intrigues and brings a smile, The Dolomites Don't Exist invites audiences into a world where humour meets memory, the local language takes centre stage and village life becomes a performance.
A comedy to experience up close, where witty exchanges, the nuances of local speech and the spontaneity of the characters bring a community to life — one that knows how to recognise itself, laugh at itself and cherish what makes it unique. Because a land is made not only of landscapes to admire, but also of voices, connections and stories to pass on.
Written and directed by Martino Apollonio Valentini, the show brings five opportunities to celebrate Ampezzo culture and spirit to the stage of the Alexander Girardi Hall.
Five chances to laugh, reconnect and discover that the most authentic Dolomites are not just the ones you see. They are the ones you live.
