Villa Doglioni
Villa Doglioni, Via Anconetta 18 - 32100 Belluno (BL) IT (0039) 0437926755 alborgosnc@libero.it www.alborgo.to

The building dates back to the 18th century. Since the beginning of the 1800s, it belonged to the noble Doglioni family, later became the property of Campanaro, and then of the Beltramini family. It is now owned by Mr. Giuliano Viel, who, with an intelligent and loving restoration work, has brought the complex back to life, which now hosts, in addition to the owner's residence, a characteristic restaurant that revives the ancient name given to the locality (Borgo). It is a small villa, but of noble design, enhanced by worked stones framing all openings. In the old farmhouse, three comfortable bedrooms have been made for guests.

Excellencies of the villa: The entirety consists of a master wing, with the main front facing south, a service wing attached to the west, a large garden at the front, a small rustic building, and a well at the back. Next to the road, a simple masonry archway constituted the original side entrance to the property. The villa itself, of the usual tripartite type, is of modest dimensions but very well proportioned. In the park, there is a centuries-old tree, sophora japonica, and some stone sculptures by contemporary artist Fiabane.

Excellencies of the context: 2 km from the historic center of Belluno. Less than a kilometer away: Villa Buzzati - Traverso (a typical example of a 19th-century romantic villa) with the church of San Pellegrino, villa Coraulo in Piai (17th century). About four kilometers away in Castionese are various villas and churches: Villa Miari Fulcis (17th century) in Modolo, one of the largest and most complex architectural structures in Val Belluna, Villa De Bertoldi (18th century) in Pedecastello, and the church of San Mamante. Another 4 kilometers easily reachable by the bike path starting from Limana leads to the shores of the Piave where villa Piloni in Cesa is located, continuing along a characteristic hornbeam avenue to Pieve, the ancient administrative center of Limana that still preserves interesting villas (Girardi and Trois) as well as the ancient church of Santa Barbara. 10 km away is the Alpe del Nevegàl, a summer and winter tourist location, situated at an altitude of 1000 m.
