Da Borgo Prà a San Francesco

On Sunday the 26th at 10:30, on the occasion of the festival "Remembering the Marangoni and the ancient arts," the tour guide Marta Azzalini offers a guided tour of Borgo Prà, along the ancient irrigation canal among mills, sawmills, tanneries, forges, and fulling mills.

A route that starts from Piazza San Lucano, originally created to host one of the city fairs and later becoming the heart of Borgo Pra. From here, after revealing its history, you will set off for a walk along the Ardo stream, discovering what was once the proto-industrial area of Belluno where the famous Belluno swords were produced, wood, wool, and leather were worked, and barley and wheat were ground.

You will follow the path of the irrigation canal, the artificial channel that supplied water to the many mills and hydraulic workshops. You will arrive at Fol, the location that recalls the presence of the Fullers, the workshops where wool was processed to produce felt, and then reach the locality of San Francesco where it is possible to visit the Officine Orzes, the last workshop closed in 1983.

Then you will return to the starting point along the path that passes under the grandiose Ponte Nuovo, rebuilt after the bombing of the First World War.

Duration of the itinerary: approximately 2 hours (comfortable walking shoes are suggested for walking on the grass).
