Discover moreThe Ecomuseum of the Biois Valley was officially established and recognized by the Veneto Region in 2021 and involves the Municipalities of Canale d'Agordo, Falcade, and Vallada Agordina.
The configuration of the Valley and its historical-geographical context unite the three Municipalities in terms of identity, language, folklore, and culture.
The ecomuseum is a reality that develops in the open air, with the main actor being a resident of the territory who, together with a community, takes care of, enhances, and promotes a peculiar aspect of the surrounding environment.
Often, the theme is linked to the history of the past, traditions, the rural context, and language.
The idea arises from the need to safeguard the history of a place.
Therefore, the combination of territory and community forms the basis of ecomuseums, which began to spread in Italy in the 1990s and have now reached about 230 realities throughout the country. The two days of open day events at the sites of the Ecomuseum of the Biois Valley will focus on a cultural orienteering activity with a corresponding passport to stamp at each site.
The initiative includes free guided tours of about half an hour starting at the Museum in Canale and the churches of Falcade and Vallada Agordina.
Each participant will also receive a "passepartout" on which to collect stickers for each completed itinerary and a multiple-choice quiz.
At the end of the initiative, by presenting the card and the answers to the quiz at the Albino Luciani Museum in Canale d'Agordo, final awards will take place in the Lina Zandò “Bolda” Hall.
