The highest terrace in the Belluno Dolomites is undoubtedly that of Marmolada. Move to the top: a twelve-minute panoramic cable car ride will take you to an altitude of 3265 meters, climbing the Queen of the Dolomites from the Malga Ciapela car park (1450 meters) to Punta Rocca, passing through the intermediate stations of Coston d'Antermoja and Serauta.
Up there, it's easy to get excited admiring a magnificent 360° view of the Dolomites, a World Heritage Site since 2009 for their geological and landscape features, unique in the world!
Another tip: at the Serauta station, stop and visit the highest museum in Europe: it is dedicated to the Great War and offers an immersive exhibition on the historical and human events that took place during the First World War, from the touching perspective of those who were personally involved at the front.
At Punta Rocca, you will find the Grotta della Madonna (Grotto of the Madonna). How to get down? If you can't wait to put your skis on, you should know that Punta Rocca is home to what is the longest ski run in the Dolomites, the “Bellunese”: it will take you back down to the valley, gliding through twelve kilometers of pure wonder.
