Palazzo Zandonella

Cadore - Tre Cime - Comelico

Cadore - Tre Cime - Comelico
Palazzo Zandonella
Palazzo Zandonella

The palace was built in 1663 by the Zandonella-Dall’Aquila family, so named because they claimed to have received the noble title from the same emperor of the Holy Roman Empire. Engaged for centuries in the timber trade of Comelico, they could afford a noble construction that was one of the most advanced of the 17th century.

The palace today

This, with its imposing and characteristic dark tuff door, the yellow tuff windows and frames, and the family crest (the eagle) on the main door, can still be appreciated today in its original external splendor, despite subsequent interventions after the fire of 1874 that had damaged it. The interiors, now quite altered, house the Agnuldei museum of Ladin culture.
Don't miss the opportunity for a museum visit while enjoying the atmosphere of the palace's interiors!
