On the crests of our memory

The MURES - Museum of the Resistance is located in Pian delle Femene (Limana, BL), in the heart of the Belluno Pre-Alps. A territory that experienced the partisan struggles firsthand and was chosen as a place of Memory for this reason.

It is managed by volunteers from the ANPI, in collaboration with the Nannetti from Vittorio Veneto (TV) and La Spasema della Valbelluna (BL), precisely on the border of the provinces. Its mission is to passionately tell the story of the local Resistance.

It is not a large institutional museum, but an authentic place: born from civil commitment and grown thanks to those who believe that memory must be preserved and transmitted.

Here, you will not find documents and images for their own sake: you will encounter the testimonies of people who have left a mark in the Pre-Alps in the struggle for freedom.

A few more details that make a difference

The MURES has free entry and is open mainly on summer weekends... but the volunteers – true enthusiasts – are also available to conduct visits on request on other days and at other times – upon arrangement.

The Museum reopened in August 2025 – after a long renovation – and today aims to be a lively place, in step with modernity and interactive.
The volunteers have dedicated themselves to the new setup (on the 2nd floor), rich in digital panels, immersive projections, maps showing the various partisan brigades in the territory and infographics for in-depth exploration on the walls...
A significant investment, with the idea of fully engaging visitors in an appealing experience “strolling through our history,” which helps reflect on the past and present and on the values of democracy, law, and tolerance.

But MURES is also something else... Each year it organizes collective moments and events: from the Antifascist Pasta (the Sunday closest to July 25) to the Anniversary of Liberation (the first Sunday after August 15). Community celebrations that blend the popular and the institutional, attracting citizens, enthusiasts, and associations to discuss and remember the events that changed the course of History.

There are also collaborations with schools, historical centers, and cultural institutions like ISBREC, through educational projects and thematic temporary exhibitions... In short, MURES meets the tastes of everyone: from students who need to study to hikers who happened by chance, to enthusiastic historians.

This museum is today a crossroads of lives and emotions. Suitable for anyone who wants to better understand the value of the Resistance and the deep bond that unites this community to its territory.
