A family focused on ORGANIC

On the road to Valmorel, right at the gates of Valpiana, you'll find the La Schirata farm run by Giuseppe and his children. A small farm cared for with passion, born from the desire to give concrete form to the ethic of “Organic”.

Here, Giuseppe and Carla have built, step by step, a cutting-edge business: with free animals, cheeses that tell stories, and a genuine welcome that starts with a smile and arrives at the table.

Today, the farm is managed by their children Tommaso and Valentina, who with enthusiasm and new skills are transforming this small reality, already 100% self-sufficient.

It is open year-round and on weekends prepares an agritourism service by reservation.

The offer will soon expand, with outdoor experiences and convivial events, while always maintaining that natural imprint that distinguishes them in the Province.

Some more details that make a difference

The farm extends over 16 hectares of pastures and meadows, is immersed in silence, and here you can appreciate the beauty of slow rhythms and the spectacular landscape of Valbelluna.

La Schirata is not just a farm: it feels like home and has a sense of family. It's the kind of place where, as soon as you arrive, you see animals everywhere... and you fall in love.

La Schirata today is a concrete example of how organic farming can become a sustainable, healthy, and winning model. For years, the owners have pursued this idea clearly: to work in respect of nature, animals, and people.

A simple yet radical philosophy has made this reality a reference point for the entire Valmorel area.

This farm is one of the most well-known in the whole area… Valentina welcomes groups, families, and anyone passing through who wants to learn more about organic farming and about them. To encourage people to discover similar initiatives, they often organize moments of meeting, exchange, and learning.

La Schirata is a place where one feels good, and where learning happens without you realizing it, because the relationship with the environment becomes natural. Here, indeed, every animal has its own space and time. Perhaps that's why everyone here manages to create genuine and lasting bonds.

The farm has been active since 2004, with a breeding of dairy goats — it currently has about a hundred animals including goats and sheep. Since 2007, it has been artisanally producing goat cheeses and since 2017 also sheep cheeses, entirely organic (even the self-produced feed is 100% ORGANIC!).  Their journey has been complex, requiring a lot of effort, especially in educating customers about natural products and the inimitable taste of their products.
They have gradually grown, attended courses with cheesemakers from Piedmont to get certified and obtain quality certifications; they have expanded to include pigs, donkeys, and horses to ensure total self-sufficiency.

Additionally, the agritourism has recently been reactivated: it offers customers small tasting paths of the products. And the shop is always open where customers can buy the cheeses and admire the various awards earned over time.
Moreover, every week, La Schirata is present in different markets in Valbelluna, ensuring direct dialogue with customers who can immerse themselves even more in the idea of transparent and local agriculture.

La Schirata is an agricultural reality that still wants to grow and remains true to its roots and the memories of our traditions. A concrete example that demonstrates —every day— how ORGANIC is not just a label or a marketing idea, but a beautiful choice and opportunity to pursue and spread.
