Museum of wrought iron and decorative arts of the early 20th century, established through a testamentary bequest by Carlo Rizzarda and set up by architect Alberto Alpago Novello in 1938. Partially closed in the 1970s, it was reopened to the public on June 9, 2001, with a new exhibition. The «Carlo Rizzarda» Modern Art Gallery in Feltre was created by the testamentary wish of Carlo Rizzarda, one of the most important wrought iron artists of the early years of the 20th century. In 1926 Rizzarda purchased Palazzo Bovio-Villabruna Cumano, a 16th-century residence in the historic center of Feltre, with the intention of creating a museum of decorative arts in his hometown. Upon his death at only 48 years old in 1931 due to a traffic accident, the Municipality of Feltre inherited, in addition to the palace, all of Rizzarda's wrought iron pieces stored at the villa and the artist's workshop in Milan as well as his art collection, including paintings, sculptures, decorative art objects, furniture, and chinoiseries that Rizzarda had acquired to furnish his Milanese residence.
