The Belluno Section of the Italian Alpine Club (CAI) is one of the most active historical realities in the Venetian mountaineering scene. Founded in 1872, it is among the oldest sections in Italy, with over 150 years of commitment to promoting the mountains as a place for discovery, culture, sport, and environmental protection.
The CAI of Belluno is dedicated to enhancing the Belluno Dolomites, a UNESCO heritage site, through intense hiking, mountaineering, cultural, and educational activities. It regularly organizes social trips, mountaineering courses, climbing, ski mountaineering, hiking, and activities for younger people with the Youth Climbing Group.
Among the main tasks of the Section is also the maintenance of the trails and mountain huts, which are essential for ensuring safe and sustainable access to the mountains. CAI Belluno manages, either directly or in collaboration, several hiking trails and huts, becoming a point of reference for hikers, mountaineers, and nature lovers.
The section also promotes cultural evenings, meetings with experts, exhibitions, and presentations, contributing to spreading a culture of the mountain that is aware and respectful.
