All journeys begin with a meeting. In Japan, there is a saying, 一期一会 (ichi-go ichi-e), which inspired this journey of ours. It literally means “one time, one meeting” and teaches us to live fully in the present, because every person, every thing, every place, and every meeting, even if seemingly the same, are unrepeatable.
On the other hand, a forest on a sunny day will never be the same as that same forest on a rainy day. And just as the seasons are in continuous change, so are people and situations never the same.

We will savor a new emotion for our Italian palates: umami, the fifth fundamental taste, alongside sweet, salty, bitter, and sour. In a nutshell, the taste that will slowly unveil Japanese daily life to us.
We will discover what tea is, its origin, its history, and its protagonists from both yesterday and today.
We will understand what distinguishes Japanese green tea from other teas and learn about its processing, the faces of those who produce it, and the hands of the artisans who shape it through the art of ceramics in Japan.
