There are music pieces that are listened to. And others that seem to speak directly to the soul.
On Thursday, February 11th, the Basilica of Saints Philip and James becomes the backdrop for a musical journey through three centuries of sacred music, where the voice of soprano Monica De Rosa McKay meets the solemn sounds of the organ played by Loris Serafini.
From Bach to Handel, from Pergolesi to Verdi, up to Brahms, the program spans different eras and sensibilities, intertwining timeless melodies, pages of intense spirituality, and moments of rare beauty.
The rigor of Baroque, the grace of the Italian tradition, and the romantic lyricism blend into a musical narrative that invites slowing down, listening, and letting oneself be moved.
Adding to the evocative experience will be the setting of the Basilica, built between 1769 and 1775, a guardian of an important artistic heritage and the heart of the Ampezzo community.
A gathered and precious appointment, where music, architecture, and spirituality come together, offering the audience a moment of authentic beauty.
Entrance is by free and conscious donation: the proceeds will contribute to the renovation works of the parish nursery school.
Because even beauty, when shared, can become a concrete gesture of solidarity.
