Concorso volti lignei

The "Rassegna dei Volti Lignei dei Carnevali di Montagna" competition was established in 1992, in the beautiful and picturesque context of the village of Fornesighe, following the discontinuation of the previous competition "Volti in legno secondo la tradizione zoldana" from 1991. From the very first year, '92, the event has attracted carvers from all over the Veneto and beyond; the wood artists who participate with their masks in the exhibition and enhance the initiative are continuously increasing, especially from the entire Alpine arc.

A jury of specialists judges the faces and determines the winner, then announces the theme for the next edition. Indeed, the subject that the works must be inspired by changes from time to time, allowing those who execute them to express themselves on multiple fronts and touch on always current themes.

For the 2026 edition, the chosen theme is "the Olympics"; the works will be displayed and votable by the public at the "Al Piodech" hall in Fornesighe (former dairy) from 01/24/26 to 01/31/26 | from 17:00 to 19:00.

On 02/01/26, at the end of the Carnevale della Gnaga parade, the award ceremony for the competition will take place.
