Serata con Antonio Preziosi, direttore del TG2

Evening dedicated to a meeting with the director of TG2 Antonio Preziosi, who, with great emotion and genuineness, will speak about the meaning of Hope in Albino Luciani.

Throughout his career, Antonio Preziosi has authored many publications related to Pope Luciani, including “Indimenticabile” and “Il sorriso del Papa. La vita di Albino Luciani e i trentatré giorni di Giovanni Paolo I.” A biography published by Edizioni San Paolo, in which the renowned journalist recounts the figure of Giovanni Paolo I through episodes and details from his life in a simple, direct, engaging, and rigorous style.

Born in Taranto in 1967, he graduated with honors in Law and has been a professional journalist since 1995. He began collaborating with Rai in 1991 as a programmer-director at Rai Radio2. The following year, he won the public competition for the first master's program at the School of Radiotelevision Journalism in Perugia and, in 1994, he was at the Rai Commercial Direction. In 1995, he was hired as an editor for the news office in Palermo, where he was among the presenters of the regional news broadcast. In 1997, he was called to Rome to the parliamentary political editorial office of Giornale Radio, for which, four years later, he became a correspondent responsible for following the activities of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers. As a correspondent, he covered major foreign and international political events. In 2004, he was appointed Chief Editor.

In August 2009, he was entrusted with the direction of Rai Radio1 and the Giornale Radio news outlet, which includes GR1, GR2, GR3, Ultimo Minuto, and Il Giornale della Mezzanotte: he held this position until March 2014, assuming interim responsibility for the Special and Features editorials at various times. In December 2015, after serving for several months as a columnist for Tg2, he was appointed correspondent for radio and television news services from Belgium as Chief Editor.
He has taught courses in political communication, journalism, and communication theory and techniques at various Italian universities.
He has received several awards for his journalistic work, including the Amalfi Journalism Award and the "Mimmo Castellano" Career Award. He is a Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic. Finally, in December 2018, he was appointed Director of the Rai Parlamento radio and television news outlet.
