There are places capable of telling a vision of the future that is still surprisingly relevant today. The ENI Village in Borca di Cadore is one of them. Between 1954 and 1963, architect Edoardo Gellner, commissioned by Enrico Mattei, shaped a revolutionary project: a community immersed in the landscape of the Dolomites where workers, managers, and families shared the same spaces, services, and quality of living. An unprecedented experiment in social architecture, where design became a tool for inclusion, well-being, and progress.
The exhibition "Seeing Gellner" invites the public to rediscover this extraordinary vision through the lens of two contemporary authors. The illustrations by Francesco Nardi and the photographs by Denise Rosato engage in dialogue to convey the poetic and innovative strength of the architectures of Borca di Cadore and Cortina d'Ampezzo, reinterpreting them with an accessible, sensitive, and contemporary language.
A visual journey that traverses landscape, memory, and project, telling the story of a master of the twentieth century who is still little known to the general public, but capable of profoundly influencing the way we think about mountain architecture.
