Masters. Visions. Eternity

In Cortina d’Ampezzo, the cinema becomes a journey into creativity, memory, and imagination.

For the 2026–2027 season, the Alexander Girardi Hall Cinema hosts THE GREAT MASTERS, the new project signed by Kublai Film: five events, five extraordinary protagonists, five stories capable of crossing centuries and speaking to our present.

It starts in October  with CARAVAGGIO, a cinematic investigation into the heart of the life and work of the great Lombard master, through details, hidden self-portraits, and the enigmas that still inhabit his masterpieces.

In November, WERNER HERZOG. RADICAL DREAMER arrives, a portrait of a visionary and radical director, built through exclusive archives and testimonies from figures such as Christian Bale, Nicole Kidman, Robert Pattinson, Wim Wenders, and Patti Smith.

In February, it will be the turn of FRIDA KAHLO, with a new version enriched by materials created for the great exhibition at Tate Modern: the face, the color, the strength of an icon who transformed her life into art.

In March, MICHAEL ENDE. A NEVER-ENDING STORY takes us into the universe of the author of The Neverending Story and Momo, to rediscover the origin of an imaginary that continues to nourish generations.

The series closes with TURNER & CONSTABLE, the comparison between two giants of English painting and two revolutionary ways of looking at the landscape. 

Five films in seven months. From painting to cinema, from literature to landscape: THE GREAT MASTERS transforms the hall into a meeting place between art, culture, and emotion. An invitation to stop, look, and be surprised. Because some artists do not belong solely to history: they continue to change our way of seeing the world.
