The masked parade starts from Falcade at 8:00 in the morning, crossing the entire Biois Valley.
In the procession, there are several characteristic figures including the Matiei, the Laché, the Ber, el Caoron Spion and many others, all accompanied by the music of accordions, guitars, and double basses.
However, the Zinghenesta is still missing, which will be revealed only around 12:00 with the arrival of the procession in Piazza Tancon in Canale d’Agordo.
This is perhaps the most evocative moment of the festival, during which everyone applauds and celebrates with dances and toasts.
At 2:30 PM, the procession parades again through the streets of the town and arrives in Piazza Papa Luciani where the group performs the “Bal de la Zinghenesta.”
Here, accompanied by music, food, and drinks, the celebration continues with dancing until the trial of the Carnival takes place.
This “comedy” takes place every year, blaming the Carnival for all the negative or particular events that have occurred in the Biois Valley.
The verdict is usually dire for him, and his condemnation is celebrated by the onlookers, to free themselves from the past and think of a better and prosperous future.
