“Bologna cannot be grasped. Every time you try to hold onto it, it slips away like a shadow beneath the porticos, like the light that thins on the towers at sunset. It cannot be enclosed in a name, a guide, a tale.”
Lorenzo Sassoli de Bianchi takes us through his Bologna, rediscovering the places that have marked his upbringing. A sentimental connection with the city emerges, built over time through a widespread commitment to its cultural and civic fabric — from the Cineteca di Bologna to the Bologna Festival, to the San Domenico Center — which restores a lively relationship with the places and their memory.
