4ª Memoria liturgica del Beato Giovanni Paolo I: Santa Messa

In the year of the tenth anniversary of MUSAL – Museo Albino Luciani, the Papa Luciani Foundation honors the occasion through the programming and organization of weekly summer cultural events that will take place throughout the months of July and August. These events aim to promote culture, local history, and faith while also leaving ample space for music and new publications.
On Wednesday, August 26, 2026, the community will gather in Piazza Papa Luciani in Canale d'Agordo at 4:30 p.m. to celebrate the Holy Mass of the fourth liturgical memorial of Blessed Giovanni Paolo I. The solemn and heartfelt Eucharistic celebration will be presided over by the Bishop of Vittorio Veneto and will be accompanied by the evocative songs of the Diocesan Choir, which will enrich this moment of prayer in the open air in the hometown of the "Pope of Smiles" with harmony and reflection. This gathering represents the spiritual culmination of the summer in Canale d'Agordo, a unique opportunity to come together around the memory of Blessed Albino Luciani on the exact day of his fourth official liturgical anniversary. The presence of the Bishop of the diocese in which Luciani operated and lived key pages of his ministry gives the meeting a profound historical and ideal significance, ideally uniting the lands of Veneto in a hug of faith, gratitude, and popular devotion.

The event is open to all the faithful, residents, and the many pilgrims visiting the Dolomites. Participating in the Holy Mass in Piazza Papa Luciani means not only renewing the memory of a gentle and smiling shepherd but also entrusting to his intercession the path of the Church and the entire community, in a landscape and spiritual context of extraordinary value.
