Madonna del Runal

The pilgrimage to Our Lady of Runal is a millennia-old tradition held every year in the town of Farra d'Alpago. This sacred event, which takes place on September 7-8, is highly cherished by the local community and numerous devotees who come from all over to pay homage to the Madonna.

Our Lady of Runal is venerated in a small church located on top of a hill, from which one can enjoy a breathtaking view of the valley below. The pilgrimage begins with a long walk winding through mountain paths, offering participants the opportunity to immerse themselves in unspoiled nature and to appreciate the tranquility and spirituality of the place.

Upon arriving at the church, pilgrims participate in the mass celebrated in honor of Our Lady of Runal, during which prayers are offered and songs are sung in an atmosphere of deep devotion. After the religious service, it is possible to visit the church and admire the ancient painting of the Madonna, which is highly venerated by the faithful.

The Cimbri of Cansiglio participate by descending to the sanctuary from the Forest of Cansiglio, near Palughetto.
