As part of the Via Alpina – Viadventure Project, the Province of Belluno has been tasked with developing a tourism offering aimed at rediscovering the historical and cultural heritage related to the military events of the Great War through the trails, trenches, and fortifications that were built during the conflict from 1915 to 1918. The goal is to enhance the paths and military constructions located along the entire route of the Via Alpina, in the northernmost part of the Belluno territory, which constituted the so-called "Dolomite front" between the valleys of the upper Agordino and Ampezzo. The war has left indelible marks on these rocks that have become destinations for hikers and keep alive the memory of historical events so rich in meaning. This brochure thus arises from the desire to link historical reality and hiking to enhance these particular sites along the Via Alpina route, directly involving tourism operators as well.
