Features

Val Visdende is a valley of rare beauty located in Comelico, on the border with Austria and Friuli. The valley is traversed by multiple roads that allow you to admire true gems, such as the monumental trees that stand over 50 meters tall and are more than two centuries old.

ACCESS The Val Visdende is reachable only by private means: it is recommended that once you pass the barrier that allows access to the valley (the cost is 5 € and includes parking), you leave the car in one of the many parking areas available in the valley.

DESCRIPTION OF THE ROUTE After leaving the car in one of the many parking areas in the valley, follow the flat paved roads (which are also open to cars) that cross Val Visdende. In particular, we recommend leaving the car in the parking area of Borgo Cima Canale (this is the first one after the barrier) and from there continue on foot. After about 1.5 km you will reach a fork: on the left you continue along a road that, passing through the villages of the valley, leads to the Ciaidon junction, beyond which the route is no longer accessible; on the right, however, you reach the park of monumental trees and then the village of Costa D'Antola. In both cases, these are mostly flat paths, immersed in nature.

RECOMMENDED EQUIPMENT AND NOTES A suitable stroller for uneven terrain (off-road wheels) and a swivel wheel. In the park of monumental trees, at some points there are wooden pavements and wooden steps, where the support of a companion is necessary. Access to the valley is permitted from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., but it is advised to check the website for possible seasonal schedule changes.
