Sentiero Puos Natura

The Puos Natura Trail is a circular route that allows you to discover some of the most characteristic environments of the Puos d’Alpago area, alternating stretches immersed in nature, small villages, and testimonies of local history.

The route starts from the sports facilities of Puos and initially follows the bank of the Tesa stream. It then continues along the so-called “Road of the Dead,” an ancient path used to escort the deceased to the church of Pieve d'Alpago, before reaching Garna and the locality of Torch, near the little church of San Pietro.

From here, the trail descends towards Valzella and continues in the direction of Nusieda and Sitran, a village characterized by ancient porticoes and some curious elements of the local landscape, such as the famous “bicycle in the tree.”

Continuing towards Bastia and Farra d'Alpago, you reach one of the most interesting naturalistic stretches of the itinerary: the Santa Croce Lake Natural Oasis, a wetland of great interest where there are also points dedicated to birdwatching.

From the oasis, the route returns to Puos again following the bank, until reaching the sports facilities and closing the loop.
