“Enough, I’m giving it all up!” are the words of Lievore, forever etched in history thanks to the famous and impromptu interview with Zavoli during the Belluno-Vittorio Veneto stage of the Giro d'Italia in 1966.
After having led for almost the entire route, Lievori finds himself overtaken by Scandelli.
His legs give way, he no longer wants to move forward. It will be up to the commentator to urge him to continue. “Fine - Lievore convinced himself - maybe I’ll die, but just a meter after the finish.”
This route winds along the same track: a climb immersed in a great natural, historical and cultural heritage in the heart of Veneto that leads from Lake Santa Croce to Cansiglio!
