The Pro Loco Pieve Castionese was born from an idea promoted by the Festivities Committee of Pieve, initiated between winter 2009 and spring 2010.
In those months, the Committee collected the requests of many residents of Castione regarding the need to unite and optimize the efforts of all local organizations to avoid overlapping initiatives, waste of organizational energy, and duplication of equipment and facilities.
Out of the 35 associations present in the area, 25 joined the project, supporting the reason that prompted the Committee to embark on the path of involvement and promotion that led to the establishment of the Pro Loco.
The birth of the Pro Loco has immediately been seen by those operating in the area as an opportunity to pursue the goal of:
- increasing opportunities to organize recreational, cultural, and sports initiatives;
- making our territory and its peculiarities known;
- improving relationships between the associations present in the area;
- providing coordinated management for events;
- improving the use of human and material resources.
The Pro Loco Pieve Castionese is an archipelago that brings together numerous activities, is made up of hundreds of volunteers, and is active all year round, from January 1 to December 31. In particular, it operates with two different groups: The Folklore Group Nevegàl and The Public Lies. Additionally, it owns and manages, thanks to its volunteers, the San Gaetano Theater of Castion, the multi-activity space “Le Stanze,” and the activity “Equazione.”
