Museo Civico archeologico, via Luzzo 23 - 32032 Feltre (BL) IT (0039) 0439885242 museo@comune.feltre.bl.it www.visitfeltre.info

The Civic Museum was founded in 1903 and originally housed in the main council chamber of the Palazzo della Ragione.

The current seat was inaugurated in 1928 in the 16th Century building Palazzo Villabruna in Via Luzzo street. After an important renovation, the Civic Museum is an example of a “house museum”. The museum's paticular charm is its layout as a home, filled with marvellous collection of forniture, priceless artefacts and works of art, transporting visitors back to the refined atmosphere of a patrician home of the Feltre of bygone centuries.

The ground floor of the Palace has been recently restored and, in seven completely renovated rooms, the new archaeological section was created, inaugurated on 29 April 2022. It contains a unique archeological collection, with the monumental statue of Aesculapius, Anna Perenna’s altar, sculptures, stone inscriptions and other architectural elements that illustrate the administrative arrangements and building typologies of the city during Roman times.

The upper floors showcase furniture, sculptures and paintings from the period 1500 to 1800, with works by Gentile Bellini, Giovanni Battista Cima da Conegliano, Pietro Dé Marascalchi and Lorenzo Luzzo.
