Lattebusche is a cooperative that has been valuing local milk and the typical products made from it since 1954, with a focus on sustainability and social responsibility.
It is headquartered in Busche, in the Belluno area, an unspoiled region rich in pastures at the foot of the Dolomites with a long tradition of livestock farming.
The tradition of dairy cattle farming emerged during the decline of the Serenissima Republic of Venice, as the most valid and natural productive alternative for the fragile rural economy of our territory.
During those difficult years, the idea of grouping small local farmers to process milk "in turn" at a single "milkhouse" took hold in every small town in our mountains. This significantly contributed to the birth of local dairy traditions.
Over time, especially in the post-war period, corresponding to the socio-economic developments of the time, many of these small enterprises faced crises and were destined to close. In other cases, local farmers reacted by re-associating and expanding the cooperative's social base, establishing larger cooperative dairies.
Thus, in 1954, the Social Cooperative Dairy of the Feltrino Valley, now Lattebusche, was founded in Busche by 36 founding members.
The transition from a small local business to a true productive and commercial reality was the result of numerous decisions and continuous evolutions.
In particular, being able to grasp the tastes of a consumer particularly attentive to the quality of the product, the freshness of the typical flavors linked to local tradition, and the safety that a large productive entity can offer has allowed growth to the point of becoming the company it is today.
