From Santa Fosca we ascend to l'Andria/Toffol and continue to the right towards Malga Pien de Vacia.
After Malga, we continue along the paved road until the locality Piera de l'Auta, where we find a totem that illustrates the location and the nature present on the Mondeval plateau.
On the CAI trail n.466, we first pass by the now-abandoned Malga Mondeval de Sota, cross a footbridge over the Rio Mondeval, and ascend to the Mondeval plateau where, on the left surrounded by pastures, we find the boulder where the burial of the Man of Mondeval was discovered, a hunter who lived about 7,500 years ago.
The skeleton along with the entire burial equipment can be admired at the Vittorino Cazzetta Museum in Selva di Cadore. In addition to the burial site, one can also enjoy the beautiful panorama of the Lastoi del Formin, Croda da Lago, and Bec de Mezodi.
The return follows the same path taken on the way out.
