Le Crode Distillery is located in Caorera di Quero Vas, in the province of Belluno, on the banks of the Piave River, halfway between Valdobbiadene and Feltre, straddling two areas with rich and important food and wine traditions.
Over the years, due to its tenacity in combining research with tradition, quality with innovation, attention to detail, and interest in the local area, Le Crode Distillery has earned an important place in the landscape of quality Grappa production. Here, Vincenzo Agostini, the sole heir of the historic tradition of Belluno Grappa, once considered one of the best Italian grappas, distills the Grappa drop by drop, with patience and perseverance, using a small copper steam boiler system, in a discontinuous cycle, built in Conegliano Veneto (Treviso) by Zambeletti & Nogarol in the early twentieth century.
The system of Le Crode Distillery, in fact, is one of the rare plants that still operates “like it used to, with a smoking chimney,” continuing the historic tradition of Venetian and Italian Grappa. Le Crode are the steep, inhospitable cliffs, frequented by a few experts, that accompany the Piave River when, after leaving the Dolomites and Val Belluna, flows into the Po Valley.
Sobriety and a sense of history, connection with the territory and authenticity, attention to detail and product excellence: all this in a bottle of Grappa Le Crode.
