A true gem of art and spirituality nestled in the Belluno Dolomites – enchanting on the outside and astonishing within.
The Church of San Simon in Vallada Agordina is ancient, already mentioned in historical records as early as 1185.
Now a national monument of extraordinary artistic value, it houses frescoes by Paris Bordone, a pupil of Tiziano.
Don’t miss the adjacent Schola dei Battuti (1361), home to the namesake confraternity: recently restored in 2021, it features a fascinating cycle of frescoes.
