The management of the tennis school has been entrusted full-time to the national coach Fabio Barone. In Barone's curriculum, graduated from the National School of Coaches in 1990, there is above all the experience of 15 years as the manager of the Tennis Training Center at the regional technical center of Valletta Cambiaso in Genoa, which during those years was a unique reality in Italy for results at the youth level and for the number of young athletes.
IT WAS THE YEAR 1952...
when a tennis stadium with two clay courts, a fixed grandstand capable of over 400 seats, two changing rooms for athletes, a small bar, and an office for the secretariat came into being.
The birth of this establishment was due to a happy combination of several factors: the growing (at that time) attention for tennis, which had many very popular champions in Italy, the foresight of the owner of the brewery, and the passion and dedication of a small group of locals from Feltre. They sensed that a tourist and climatic station, as Pedavena was then defined, would increase its appeal with the presence of a prestigious facility suitable for hosting international events.
It should be noted that there already existed within the Brewery park a bowling alley and a zoo that attracted crowds of tourists from all over Italy. During those years, there was also a single-seat chair lift that went from Sant’Osvaldo to the top of Col Melon, where there was a equipped refuge with an attached clay pigeon shooting range, and from where one could admire the valley of the Piave.
