The Ring of Val Belluna, at the foot of the Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park, allows you to discover a corner of Veneto that has not yet been touched by mass tourism.

Characterized by a great variety of agricultural landscapes and rich in art, history, and nature, with the art cities of Belluno, Feltre, and Mel, sites of ethnographic and natural interest, Venetian villas, castles, archaeological sites, gorges, lakes, and waterfalls, it is ideal for spending a weekend, at any time of the year, dedicated to slow cycling tourism.

The Ring of Val Belluna, traveled in the Belluno-Feltre direction, starts from the wonderful hilltop city of Belluno and continues towards Sedico and Santa Giustina, where the 1526 Mill of Santa Libera and the numerous irrigation canals of Vesès along the “Waterway” can be found. It then continues towards Busche, where in 1964 the Social Dairy Cooperative of the Feltrina Valley was founded, now better known nationally and internationally as Lattebusche. From there, the route continues towards the city painted in Venetian style, Feltre, with a splendid view of the Dolomiti Bellunesi. For those interested in admiring additional nearby places on the Right Piave, it is possible to explore the Mis Valley, in Sospirolo, in the heart of the Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park, surrounded by the high and impenetrable walls of the Monti del Sole and the Pizzocco Group. In the Cesiomaggiore area, a visit to the Dolomiti Ethnographic Museum and to the daily life of Belluno from the late nineteenth century to today awaits you, as well as the historical bicycle museum “Toni Bevilacqua,” concluding in the Val Canzòi, located in the park, and in the village of Montagne with rural houses reflecting the typical architecture of these areas.

The Ring, traveled in the Feltre-Belluno direction, instead, starts from the historic Renaissance center of the town of Feltre and continues towards Lentiai, where the church of Santa Maria Assunta, recognized as a National Monument, is located. Not far from there, you will find the most picturesque fourteenth-century chapel dedicated to Saint Anthony Abbot in Bardies and the natural site of the Laghetti della Rimonta. Continuing towards Belluno, an unmissable stop at the beautiful village of Mel, where several Venetian palaces overlook the square. After Trichiana and Limana, you arrive at Villa Buzzati, the residence of the famous Belluno writer, to conclude the route at Borgo Piave, one of the most important river ports for the raftsmen of the Piave. For those wishing to discover additional sites outside the route on the Left Piave, there are paths that will lead you to admire the ancient architectural complex of the Sanctuary of SS. Vittore and Corona, as well as the internationally important Vincheto di Celarda Nature Reserve. In the Borgo Valbelluna area, finally, you can admire the best-preserved castle in the entire Valbelluna, the Castle of Zumelle.
