The airport is located in the northeast outskirts of Belluno on the state road leading to Ponte nelle Alpi, not far from the exit of the A27 motorway.
The complex, equipped with a grass runway measuring 812 x 42 meters in length, serves as a take-off and landing base for ultralight aircraft and gliders.
It is home to the Aero Club Belluno, founded in 1951 and affiliated with the Aero Club d'Italia, representing one of the largest pilot communities in northern Italy. It manages the flight school where it is possible to obtain the Private Pilot License for powered aircraft (PPL) and the Glider Pilot License (Sailplane). At the Aero Club Belluno, it is also possible to obtain certification for powered flight in mountainous regions; it is additionally the home of the Belluno Parachuting Aero Club ASD.
At the airport, sports parachuting activities take place, and it also hosts the Skydive WorldCup Series, a world-class parachuting event.
