This route, suitable for both leisurely cyclists and more demanding bike hikers, has been designed to spend the most enjoyable days
of an alternative vacation, riding a mountain bike.
The route starts from the area of the Sports Center of the Mountain Community of Alpago, located between the towns of Puos and Farra.
After an initial stretch of the new bike-pedestrian path leading to Farra, we ascend along the paved road to Pianture - Mezzomiglio, soon reaching the well-known trail called "Strada del Taffarel." From here, through the magnificent Cansiglio forest, the path winds between the locations of Vallorch, La Crosetta, and through alternative variants, reaches Candaglia, the Valmenera plain, and Pian Osteria.
A comfortable road, which crosses the nature reserve "Pian di Ladro, Baldassare," leads to the hamlet of S.Anna di Tambre. Exiting the Cansiglio forest, the route winds at the foot of the mountains of Alpago (Guslon, Messer, Teverone ...), reaching mountain huts and agritourism locations where one can taste the typical products of the valley. In a mix of views towards Col Visentin, Monte Serva, and the underlying villages of Alpago that frame Lake Santa Croce, the route reaches Rifugio Carota, at the foot of Monte Dolada, above the town of Pieve d'Alpago. From the refuge, with a long and exhilarating descent, one reaches the hamlets of Oltrerai in the municipality of Ponte nelle Alpi. From the hamlet of Soccher, now flat, one follows the right bank of the Cellina canal (ENEL); passing through the hamlet of Paiane, we soon reach the area of Paludi. Crossed a bridge, one continues, now on the other bank, until reaching the hamlet of Bastia, where one enters the natural oasis of Lake Santa Croce. Resuming, near the new bridge, the cycle path along the bank of the T. Tesa, one follows it until the arrival, at the Sports Center of the Mountain Community of Alpago.
