The shelter is the result of the restoration of a complex of numerous huts that during the First World War constituted the command of the Italian front.
Monte Piana was, from 1915 to 1917, the theater of clashes that occurred between Italians and Austro-Hungarians; for this reason, it still shows the scars left by the bloody war: the trenches, which can be visited along with the open-air museum of the Great War.
Inside the shelter, there is a significant collection of wartime and historical artifacts.
The cuisine is appreciated, and the rooms are particularly comfortable.
