The refuge, managed by the CAI Val di Zoldo section, consists of three separate buildings made of stone and wood: the central core, the dormitories, and an educational room. The structure stands on the ancient ruins of a casera and is accessible exclusively on foot, with no access road or cable car for transporting supplies.
The Bosconero Refuge is a landmark for hikers and climbers: the Alta Via delle Dolomiti no. 3 and the Zoldano Loop pass through here, and the group offers numerous trails and climbing routes. Since 2006, the refuge has also been a site for research activities by the University of Padua dedicated to the sustainable management of waste and wastewater.
