On Thursday, February 4 at 8:30 p.m., the show "Uno nessuno centomila" will take place at the Dino Buzzati Municipal Theater.
Ironic, grotesque, capable of putting the bourgeois society of the early twentieth century in crisis, this has been and still is the strength of Uno nessuno e centomila. The last of Pirandello's novels is dense with enigmas and, according to the author himself, it is «the complete synthesis of everything I have done and the source of what I will do». The protagonist Vitangelo Moscarda is perhaps one of the most complex characters in Pirandello's works: initially awkward and a prisoner of others' opinions, then increasingly aware and determined to seek the spiritual authenticity of existence, culminating in his final emancipation from all "the angers of the world".
A revolutionary work, especially for the times in which it was written, that touches on extremely current themes such as the relationship with nature, with a spirituality denied by society and convenience, and the frantic search for oneself. A text that, in its modernity, surprises, especially today, in the analysis of the banking institution and the impact it has on the social fabric. A moving scenic layout, a group of five extraordinary actors, and the typical humor of Pirandello will tell us this story, which is still highly relevant today.
