Under the Dolomite Stars: Two Nights of Moonlight, Galaxies and Wonder

At 2,416 meters above sea level, in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites, the Averau Refuge invites mountain and sky lovers to experience an unforgettable journey through taste, nature, and astronomy. Thanks to the “Gold” certification from Astronomitaly, awarded to places with the lowest light pollution, the Averau is now considered one of the best natural observatories in Italy.

Friday, July 24 and Saturday, July 25, starting at 8:30 p.m., two expert astronomers will guide guests on an exciting journey into the cosmos with professional telescopes: the Moon, the Summer Triangle, the double stars Mizar and Albireo, the Hercules cluster, and the great treasures of the summer sky will be the stars of an evening suspended between science and emotion.

The stargazing experience is paired with the à la carte dinner of the refuge with a contribution of €15 for the cover charge, which includes guided observation and technical assistance.

Saturday, July 25, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., the sky lights up even during the day with a special observation of the Sun: thanks to certified solar telescopes, it will be possible to admire sunspots, prominences, and details of our star in total safety.
