The fourth edition of the Traces of Foliage review takes us straight into the chaotic vortex of falling leaves. With “Leaves of Autumn”, all attention is on them, a natural element rich in meanings, capable of accompanying autumn reflections, when the colors that replace the green tickle emotions and thoughts.
The protagonists are the leaves, which change color, detach from the branches, and let themselves be carried away by the wind. Their falling tells the story of change, abandonment, and letting go: places that may be difficult to inhabit, but that in their chaos push us to seek boundaries, relationships, and new meanings.
Foliage thus becomes an opportunity to transform the leaves into sheets: surfaces on which to write, draw, take notes, but also musical scores. Memory becomes future through writing, reading, drawing, and music, in an intertwining of experiences that traverse the woods and the Belluno territory.
We will go into the woods to observe its metamorphoses, discover its inhabitants, and learn to draw in a travel notebook and to make a sheet of paper. With Giacomo Moro Mauretto, a.k.a. Entropy for Life, we will learn the secrets of plants and, while playing, explore the world of single-celled organisms.
The review also participates in “Veneto Reads”, with a reading aloud dedicated to the mountains, and offers tasty snacks with local products and ancient Belluno recipes. It will conclude with a performance of voice, keyboard, and guitar in a “secret” place in Belluno.
Traces of Foliage thus returns to invite us to slow down, observe, and let ourselves be traversed by the chaos of leaves: because even a falling leaf can become a trace, a story, a new beginning.
