Tournament of the Sestieri of Ampezzo

The summer in Ampezzo features an event that combines sports, tradition, and a sense of belonging: the Ampezzo District Football Tournament. Now in its 52nd edition for Seniors and 44th edition for Juniors, this historic event represents much more than a sporting competition: it is the authentic expression of Cortina's identity, where the six historic districts – Alverà, Azon, Cadin, Chiave, Cortina, and Zuel – challenge each other, bringing pride, passion, and a community spirit to the field. The districts, the ancient quarters into which the Ampezzo basin is divided, remain central to the social and cultural life of the area today, preserving traditions that have been passed down through generations.

From June 30 to August 6, 2026, the Zuel Sports Field will be the stage for five intense weeks of competitions. The Junior matches will start at 7:00 p.m., followed by the Senior matches at 8:30 p.m.. The schedule includes exciting challenges among all the teams from the six districts, culminating in the semifinals on August 3 and 4 and the highly anticipated finals on August 6, which will award the 2026 titles.

Each evening, the tournament transforms into a great popular festival, where families, fans, and visitors gather to support their teams and experience the unique atmosphere of the “Queen of the Dolomites.” Among competitiveness, friendship, and tradition, the Tournament of the Districts continues to represent one of the most heartfelt and participated events of the summer in Cortina.
