Tiziano e il paesaggio

In Pieve di Cadore, a new and unprecedented exhibition to continue investigating the innovative role of landscape in the work of Titian, 450 years after his death. Three exceptional paintings by the Master arrive in the painter's homeland, along with 30 graphic works derived from his drawings or those of great precursor artists of the new sensibility or heirs of the titianesque models across Europe: from Lucas Cranach and Albrecht Dürer to Rembrandt, Watteau, and Marco Ricci.

The exhibition “Titian and the Landscape”, which takes place in Pieve di Cadore at the Palazzo della Magnifica Comunità di Cadore from July 18 to October 18, 2026, is the second event, following that organized for the Winter Olympics, of an exhibition project that aims to explore the innovative role played by the artist in the development of the modern concept of landscape in Venetian and European art in his homeland.

A project promoted by the Magnifica Comunità di Cadore and the Fondazione Centro Studi Tiziano e Cadore, in collaboration with the Municipality of Pieve di Cadore, curated by Bernard Aikema and Thomas Dalla Costa with the support of the Scientific Committee of the Foundation and the general organization of Villaggio Globale International, the highlight of the celebrations for the 450th anniversary of the Master's death, “Titianus Cadorinus 1576 - 2026”.
