From July 18 to October 18, 2026, the Palazzo della Magnifica Comunità di Cadore in Pieve di Cadore hosts the exhibition "Titian and the Landscape". The event celebrates the 450th anniversary of the painter's death (which occurred in 1576) and is the second event in a project aimed at exploring his revolutionary role in the birth of modern landscape.
The exhibited works
The exhibition features three extraordinary paintings by Titian and 30 graphic works (drawn from his designs or those of predecessors and heirs of his style, including Dürer, Cranach, Rembrandt, Watteau, and Marco Ricci). Additionally, the painter's birthplace hosts a related exhibition on the watercolors of Josiah Gilbert dedicated to the Cadore landscapes that inspired the artist.
Open every day with the following hours: 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. | 3:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
