With a strong legacy left by the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Cortina Design Weekend opens a dialogue on the future of the highlands with an event that brings together architects, designers, institutions, and key players in alpine culture.
"The Alps from East to West" is a symposium that ideally traverses the entire alpine arch to tell a new idea of the mountains: sustainable, innovative, and deeply connected to its identity.
Inspired by the Manifesto of the Association of Architects of the Alpine Arch, the event addresses crucial themes such as strategic planning, quality of living, hospitality, landscape protection, and dialogue between tradition and innovation, demonstrating how design can become a driving force for territorial and social regeneration.
An unique opportunity to envision together the future of the Alps, transforming environmental and cultural challenges into opportunities for shared growth.
Program:
2:30 p.m. – Start of the proceedings.
First part – Screening of the manifesto film The Time of the Mountain. ArchitetturAlpinA in Ten Stories, a journey of over 1,200 km through ten virtuous examples of contemporary architecture.
Second part – Grand round table with the protagonists of alpine architecture, organized along the three geographical axes of the alpine arch – eastern, central, and western – to build a shared vision for the future of mountain living.
