Monday, August 10th, from 4 o'clock p.m. until sunset, Piazza Silvestro Franceschi becomes the stage for one of the most engaging cultural experiences of the summer: a great reading marathon open to all dedicated to The Stranger, the immortal novel by Albert Camus. In the heart of Cortina d'Ampezzo, readers, guests, and enthusiasts will take turns giving voice to a work that continues to question our time with surprising relevance.

Opening and closing the event will be actress Annina Pedrini and Paolo Valerio, director of the Teatro Stabile del Friuli Venezia Giulia, guiding the audience on a journey through the pages of a classic published in 1942, capable of revolutionizing 20th-century literature and inspiring cinema, from Luchino Visconti to the recent reinterpretation by François Ozon. Through the story of Meursault, a man suspended between fate, freedom, and the absurd, the collective reading becomes a shared experience, where each voice adds a new shade to a timeless masterpiece.

The initiative is part of A Mountain of Books, the international festival that for over fifteen years has brought great literature to the Dolomites, transforming Cortina into one of the most prestigious cultural salons in Europe.
