Behind the image of a hardworking and dynamic territory lies another story: the one told by crime news. A story made up of unsolved murders, serial killers, cold cases, and events that continue to question the collective conscience.
In this meeting, Paolo Cagnan, journalist and curator of the work True Crime in the Northeast, takes the audience on a journey through the cases that have marked Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia, and Trentino-Alto Adige. From Pietro Maso to Benno Neumair, from the Carlotto case to the great mysteries still unanswered, up to the events that have forever changed the way crime is reported in Italy.
Not only news, but an investigation into the relationship between justice, memory, and society. Because every case tells an era, every investigation reflects the context in which it has matured, and every unsolved mystery continues to raise questions about our present.
With the gaze of the journalist and the sensitivity of the writer, Cagnan reveals the more complex face of the Northeast, where bloody events become an opportunity for reflection on the more fragile and dark side of human nature.
Because behind every crime, there is always a story that speaks of us as well.
