Discover moreThe Belluno Section of the Italian Alpine Club, under the patronage of the Municipality of Belluno, dedicates an evening to Roberto Sorgato, on Thursday, December 18, 2025, starting at 8:30 PM, in the Parochial Hall of Cavarzano.
He honored friendship, the mountain, and life more than any other man:
the life that in his youth long protected him from misadventures
and that in old age, heedless of his last illness,
still wanted him with her for a long time.
He had ingenuity, courage, a generous heart.
With these words, his family announced his passing.
Roberto Sorgato was a member of the Belluno Section and the Italian Academic Alpine Club, and he was awarded the Pelmo d’Oro for his mountaineering career in 1998.
The program includes the screening of the docufilm “The Courage of a Man” with contributions from Gianni Gianeselli and Franco Bristot. The evening will be conducted by Bepi Casagrande.
Admission is free and open to all.
