Listen to your heart at high altitude

Friday, July 31, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the Son Forca Refuge becomes a place where nature, health, and research meet.

On the occasion of the Day of Arterial Hypertension in the Refuges, doctors and health workers will be available to hikers to perform free blood pressure measurements and gather valuable data for scientific research on the effects of high altitude on the cardiovascular system through a brief anonymous and voluntary questionnaire.

The initiative, promoted as part of the national campaign dedicated to the prevention of hypertension, aims to raise awareness about the importance of monitoring blood pressure even in the mountains, where altitude can affect the body's response.

It will also be possible to receive practical advice on proper lifestyle choices to protect the heart and blood vessels. A simple, free, and non-invasive gesture that can make a difference for your health and contribute to the progress of research.
