On Friday April 10, The Innamorate will take place, a performance of the 3rd Theatre Season of the Piccolo Teatro G. Pierobon in Paiane.

Set in the Goldonian era, “The Innamorate” is a comedy that intertwines romantic intrigues and twists.

Cecilia, an orphaned noblewoman and opera singer, is in financial difficulties and must marry to unlock her dowry. With the help of her maid Lucietta, she convinces a ship captain, who is already in love with Rosina, to enter into a marriage of convenience. However, Cecilia truly falls in love with the captain, triggering comedic situations. With brilliant dialogues and a captivating plot, this comedy is a tribute to the genius of Goldoni and the liveliness of classical theatre.

The Innamorate is a show in pure Goldonian style that aims to faithfully recreate the 18th-century Venetian atmosphere through the use of detailed period costumes, original music evoking melodies of classical composers, and a scenery typical of the Venetian domestic hearth.

The protagonists of the comedy are three women, each with a unique view on life and love, as they belong to different social classes and cultural backgrounds. Even though they act and think differently, their driving force is the same: to obtain what they desire, and for this they are willing to do anything.

The comedy speaks through a comedic language that is never vulgar, suitable for everyone. A constantly frantic pace, supported by the alternation of Venetian and Italian language, along with a succession of misunderstandings, helps create a light but at the same time exciting atmosphere...and never predictable.
