L'Alta Via 1 delle Dolomiti: nel cuore dei monti pallidi tra sogno, mito e realt

The Alta Via n. 1 of the Dolomites celebrates 60 years: an evening dedicated to the historic itinerary in Belluno

The Alta Via n. 1 of the Dolomites, the famous hiking route that connects Lake Braies to Belluno, turns sixty years old. To celebrate the anniversary, the Belluno section of the Italian Alpine Club is organizing an evening dedicated to the history, hiking value, and tourist importance of one of the most well-known routes in the Dolomites.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, August 1, at 8:30 p.m., at the Crepadona Cultural Center in Belluno.

During the meeting, the origins of the Alta Via n. 1 will be retraced, which was created in 1966 thanks to the initiative of Piero Rossi, Mario Brovelli, and Antonio Sanmarchi. The contribution of climber and journalist Toni Hibeler, who facilitated its spread abroad, will also be remembered.

The evening will also be an opportunity to highlight the role of the itinerary in promoting the territory and to present the new illustrated booklet of the Alta Via n. 1, created in Italian, English, and German. The presentation will be entrusted to the president of the Province of Belluno, Marco Staunovo Polacco.
