Dolores and Diana, partisan friends. Two women from Feltre in the Resistance.

The Isbrec in collaboration with the Municipality of Sovramonte, Anpi Provincial Committee of Belluno, Spi-Cgil, and the Cultural Association Tina Merlin, presents the book Dolores and Diana, partisan friends. Two women from Feltre in the Resistance published by Isbrec in 2026.

Following the institutional greetings from Mayor Federico Dalla Torre, there will be contributions from the authors Paola Dalla Rosa and Dolores Bortolas, Francesco Padovani (Anpi), and Maria Rita Gentilin (Cgil).

During the meeting, a documentary will be screened about the destruction of Aune on the morning of August 11, 1944, in retaliation by Nazi troops, due to the support given by the local population to the partisans active in the Vette Feltrine.

The role of women in the Belluno Resistance was very important.

The stories of the two friends and partisans Maria Bellencin Dolores and Dominga Opalio Diana, long silenced but found in notes, letters, documents, and photographs, are reconstructed here by their daughters in a weave of memories destined to unite generations.

Dolores and Diana were active from August 1944 until the end of the conflict in a partisan action group in the Feltrino, composed of eleven women and one man.

From what background did they come? What motivated them to join the ranks of the Resistance? What remained and what did they transmit of the experiences lived during that time?

These are some of the topics that will be addressed during the meeting.

Admission to the event is free.
